This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

I'm a big fan of your art work.really cool chatting to you at London convention. If i knew you were at the convention then i would've checked you out earlier. What are your favourite brushes in painter?i mainly use the oils flat and sometimes camel round for the rendering which have size expression unchecked.I really want to progress artistically and would appreciate any advice.I haven't had real art training besides books and videos...if you can recommend and other book/video/online resources to further my artistic knowledge.I remember you saying you use to teach art...maybe you should put out some workshops in imagine fx...i would love to see your workflow and thought process
ello mate, ye i had a lot of fun at the convention...lots of fun work and lots of nice ppl as far as my digi painting goes, im crazy limited with what i use(i eat the same sandwich pretty much every day too haha) i only use acrylic capture bristle to colour, ranging from 15-50 opacity i sketch with a light colour 2b pencil, then make a white layer, turn it to 90ish%, make a 3rd layer and draw finished line still with the 2b pencil on that. i then go back to the second layer, turn it to 100% and paint with acrylic capture bristle on that(i use smear and defuse tool quite a bit) so painting underneath the main lines i quite like keeping it messy so u can still see sketchy lines in the painting but if i want to go painty with it afterwards, i flatten it all to one layer and paint over that, painting over or smearing out the sketch lines as for teaching, i used to teach pretty basic drawing skills and concepts of light and shadow etc...nothing fancy and nothing digi iv only been painting digital a couple of years...was all oils before that and pretty much all self taught via trial and error, hence the limited knowledge of painter still haha as far as inspiration...devart baby!!!
Thanks for the tips.I'm new to painter and painting.I've only owned a computer for a couple of years.I too am self taught off burne hogarth/loomis books.Imagine fx and charles bernard videos etc. I originally got painter to practice colour for tattoos but now prefer it over my day job.I would love to have an art class off you someday...you clearly have alot of knowledge on art and design...more than you're letting on because i can see deliberate organisations of colour in your work and a unified palette.I really love your colour lighting.
Anyway, you're a real inspiration and i'm glad you did find a way to get into tattooing because you work is amazing and totally the style i'm into.Really surprised of who you were once a client of as i've raved about your work before and there was never any indication you knew each other.Anyway,i didn't mention what you said as he can be a real nightmare and i know he will take it in a bad way being how he is...and even probably vent it out on me as usual.
Hopefully we can cross paths again and next time i will catch more than just 20 mins of your tattooing. Can you recommend any other sources of art knowledge?i've read all andrew loomis, jack hamm, burne hogarth.I collect imaginefx and have watched some gnomon videos as well as charles bernards videos.I'm looking to buy some james gurney books soon. The best video on painter i've seen is jeremy sutton. It's not on art theory but on how to set up custom pallettes and commmands and optimizing your work space.the custom pallettes are what make me prefer to do most of my skething/rendering in painter...but still prefer photoshop for tweaks/transformations and colour adjustments.
For sketching i prefer to use a cover pencil as the opacity of the pencil seems to respond better to pressure than the 2b...but i'll give the 2b another go.You should try painter 12...much better than 11...better navigator just like photoshops, better brush response as you can now scale brush feature with size so large brush sizes no longer lag, smooth when zooming(pencils now look smooth without being stuck at 100% zoom).the rest of the upgrades aren't that important though like symmetry and kaleidoscope mode.I've seen some digital artists paint in grey scale to get a strong value patern and the use layer blending styles like colorize/color/overlay too get there colour with amazing results e.g.dave rappoza and matte painters.I'm trying to experiment with that workflow to help me with my values...but have had a long break from digital art because of negative criticism of digital art and its place in tattooing...but i'm going to watch a load of digital painting on youtube to inspire me to keep at it.
